..If fate is a millstone, then we are the grist. There is nothing we can do. So I wish for strength. If I cannot protect them from the wheel, then give me a strong blade, and enough strength... to shatter fate.

Card pulls
Use jjk pull or multi-pulls while this card is in the ERAS pool. The base Era Secret roll is 0.005% (1 in 20,000).
ERAS pity has a 2,500-pull counter. Once it reaches 2,500, the next eligible pull guarantees an Era Secret. This pity guarantee can be claimed once per era.
An early Era Secret resets the counter. After claiming the guarantee, normal random ERAS pulls remain possible, but the pity counter stays locked for that era. Pity does not guarantee shiny or serialized artwork.

Gains Universally Typed; whenever this card fulfils a buff condition through it, that buff is doubled; whenever any other card receives a buff, this card receives 25% of that buff for the rest of battle; Crit Damage scales with allies missing from the fight, gaining 1.5x per ally missing or defeated; at the end of every turn, this card loses its 3 lowest-value active buffs at random; whenever this card's Crit Damage is buffed, double that buff for 3 turns if this card lands a Crit during it; whenever this card's attack differs from the previous one, gain +10% Crit Chance for 3 turns (stacking; duration does not refresh); whenever a buff on this card resets, is lost, or is removed, instantly deal 1% of the total damage this card has dealt this battle to all enemies; while solo, or once all allies are defeated, gain +100% ATK, DEF, SPD and Crit Damage, and +30% Damage Reduction.
Prestige 2:
• This card receives 50% of ally buffs instead of 25%.
• The buff-loss detonation deals 3% of this card's total damage dealt instead of 1%.
On the Precipice of DefeatPassive
Whenever this card attacks, follow up that attack for +70% more damage as a guaranteed Crit; whenever this card or an ally performs a follow-up, instantly deal 70% of this card's ATK to the enemy hit by that attack, dealing +30% more damage if the card performing the follow-up is
Bleach; at the start of each turn, the ally with the highest ATK gains a follow-up on their next attack; every follow-up performed by any card grants this card +10% Damage Inflicted for 3 turns, and each consecutive follow-up within the same turn deals +25% more damage than the last; whenever this card loses 3 or more buffs in a single turn, gain 1 random Mechanic for 2 turns (OverCrit, Bloom, Resonance, or Ultra).
Prestige 2:
• The on-attack follow-up deals +120% more damage instead of +70%.
• The allied follow-up granted each turn also applies
Fracture to the enemy it hits.
Never Meant to BelongPassive
Whenever this card lands a Crit, double all buffs currently active on it for 2 turns (excluding Crit Damage), and all allies attack the strongest enemy for 2% of their current ATK, counting as 1 additional missing ally for Number One until the end of turn; Crit Chance cannot exceed 50%, and any Crit Chance buff received at 50% is gained as SPD instead; whenever this card gains 500 SPD this way, spend it to guarantee its next attack is a Crit; while this card has the highest SPD in the fight (ignoring first-action rules), deal bonus damage equal to 50% of its current SPD and gain 1 additional action per turn (up to 2); while this card has the lowest SPD in the fight, gain +10% ATK per turn (up to +100%), and at +100% the next attack is a guaranteed Crit before this bonus resets; when this card is defeated, revive as The Protector; Hollow at 50% Max HP with every buff held at the time of death, doubled, after which Crit Chance is no longer capped and this card cannot be revived again.
Prestige 2:
• The Crit buff doubling lasts 3 turns instead of 2.
• The revive restores 100% Max HP instead of 50%.
Trivia & titles
- The Protector was the first card to have a serial run, introduced in Update 39.
- His first ten serialized copies have their own artwork, including the "Negative", "Solarized", and "Antique Gold" treatments.
- Only shiny copies of The Protector can receive a serial number through normal pulls.
- Pulling a serialized copy grants the "Serialized Hunter" title, which displays the number pulled.
- He was the secret of Era Eighteen, and the second ERAS card with a variant after Itadori Yuji & The Disgraced One. Both revive into their variant form.
- He and Sakurajima Mai are the only cards with "Universally Typed" unconditionally. His "Number One" doubles any buff he qualifies for through it.
- Pulling The Protector grants you Era 18 - Hunter.
Serialized pull chances
These are base odds for an eligible Era Secret pull, assuming this is the selected ERAS card. Other shiny bonuses, event multipliers, and pull effects can change the result.
| Condition | ERAS | Shiny given ERAS | Serial given eligible copy | Combined chance | Final odds |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard pull | 0.005% | 4.25% | 5% | 0.000010625% | 1 in 9,411,764.71 |
| Guaranteed ERAS pity | 100% | 4.25% | 5% | 0.2125% | 1 in 470.59 |
The ERAS shiny chance adds 3.25% to the normal 1% shiny chance. These odds are for any serialized copy, not a specific serial number.
